Amazing Axolotls

Move over unicorns, the axolotl is the newest kid-favorite animal on the block and a great way to start a conversation about the stages in a life cycle. 

While most of its fellow amphibians undergo a metamorphosis from egg, to water-dwelling larva, to land-dwelling adult, a phenomenon called neoteny keeps the axolotl locked in a juvenile state, looking forever young and adorable!
